I saw the instructions for this on the internet and figured I would give it a try. I was not about to buy a French Knitting Spool so I made one with some spare parts (a PVC fitting, some chop sticks and some twine). I read that the braid (knit) could be done with
two or more posts along the spool, so I started with 3, it worked easily so I added more pegs to end up with six. At that point I glued the pegs in place so the knitting spool stays together for a while. This process could be useful occasionally

The small knife is strong enough to be used for defense (in a pinch) without adding too much weight to the set. The light is small but very bright, with a push button end cap. the unit can be worn for use with the left or right hand. Allowing the hand to easily grab the unit and use the light while quieting the keys. When the light is no longer needed or your hand is needed elsewhere you can simply let go of the unit, the light will go off and it will not fall to the ground (it is around your neck).. There is also a small LED light on this rig when you do not need the larger light and as a backup

I saw these 3 oz pouch Salmon pouches at the store and bought a few to try them out. I am not afraid of food in a pouch like some old timers. I have eaten my share of MREs, and the foil pouch tecnology is much lighter and more compact which makes food in puuches good for storage and packing along on hikes, camping trips, etc.
